PineShot — Privacy Policy
Effective date: September 8, 2026
Introduction
This privacy policy describes how Autimo Systems Inc., operating as Pine IT (“we,” “us,” or “our”), handles information in connection with PineShot, our screenshot utility for macOS and Windows.
PineShot is a local-first application. We do not collect any personal information, usage data, or analytics from PineShot users. The app has no Pine IT backend services and makes no network requests to our servers.
Information We Collect
None. Pine IT does not collect any data from PineShot users. There is no analytics, no telemetry, no crash reporting, no usage tracking, and no data sent to Pine IT servers. The app has zero network communication with Pine IT.
Local Data Storage
PineShot stores preferences, screenshots, and screenshot metadata on your computer. When you choose to upload a screenshot, the image is sent to your configured Google Drive, OneDrive, or Amazon S3 destination.
- User preferences: Hotkeys, display preferences, and save locations are stored locally.
- Screenshots and metadata: Local captures and library records remain on your computer until you delete them.
- Cloud credentials: Account tokens and storage secrets use macOS Keychain or Windows Credential Manager. They are not sent to Pine IT.
Third-Party Services
PineShot does not include any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs.
When you connect a cloud destination, PineShot communicates with that provider for sign-in, uploads, and link permissions. These requests go directly to Google, Microsoft, or your configured S3 endpoint. Pine IT does not act as an upload intermediary.
Google Drive sharing uses an anyone-with-the-link reader permission; OneDrive requests an anonymous view link. Provider or organization policies can restrict sharing. S3 access depends on your bucket and URL configuration, including public or time-limited pre-signed links. Owning the storage account does not make a shared link private. Check the image and recipient permissions before sharing.
Provider handling is governed by Google’s Privacy Policy, Microsoft’s Privacy Statement, and the Amazon Web Services Privacy Notice.
Data Sharing
Pine IT does not share any user data because Pine IT does not have access to any user data. No data is sold, rented, or disclosed to third parties.
Data Revocation
You can stop using PineShot, disconnect cloud accounts, and delete local captures. Deleting the application alone may leave local data or stored credentials behind. Remove those separately where needed. Uploaded copies and shared links remain with your storage provider until you delete the copies or change their permissions there. Pine IT cannot revoke links or delete files from your storage account.
Security
- Credential storage: Cloud secrets use the operating system’s credential store, macOS Keychain or Windows Credential Manager.
- Cloud connections: Sign-in, upload, and sharing requests communicate with your selected provider. Review any custom S3 endpoint before use.
- Local review: Review captures before uploading. A sharing link may grant access to anyone who receives it.
Children’s Privacy
PineShot does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Since PineShot does not collect any data from any user, this requirement is inherently satisfied.
