PineShot — Privacy Policy

Introduction

This privacy policy describes how Autimo Systems Inc., operating as Pine IT (“we,” “us,” or “our”), handles information in connection with PineShot, our macOS screenshot utility application.

PineShot is a local-first application. We do not collect any personal information, usage data, or analytics from PineShot users. The app has no Pine IT backend services and makes no network requests to our servers.

Information We Collect

None. Pine IT does not collect any data from PineShot users. There is no analytics, no telemetry, no crash reporting, no usage tracking, and no data sent to Pine IT servers. The app has zero network communication with Pine IT.

Local Data Storage

PineShot stores data locally on your Mac to function. This data never leaves your device unless you choose to upload screenshots to your own S3 storage.

• User preferences: Settings such as hotkey bindings, UI preferences, and save locations are stored locally via macOS UserDefaults
• Screenshots: Saved to a local directory of your choosing on your Mac
• Screenshot metadata: Stored in a local SwiftData database on your Mac
• S3 credentials: If you configure S3 upload, your access key, secret key, bucket name, and region are stored exclusively in the macOS Keychain — they are never transmitted to Pine IT

Third-Party Services

PineShot does not include any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs.

The only network requests PineShot makes are S3 API calls to your own configured Amazon S3 bucket (or S3-compatible storage). These requests go directly from your Mac to your S3 endpoint. Pine IT has no visibility into these requests and does not act as an intermediary.

Data Sharing

Pine IT does not share any user data because Pine IT does not have access to any user data. No data is sold, rented, or disclosed to third parties.

Data Revocation

Since PineShot stores all data locally on your device, you are in full control at all times. You can revoke consent at any time by ceasing use of the application and deleting it from your Mac, which removes all locally stored data including preferences, screenshot metadata, and Keychain credentials. No action from Pine IT is required because we do not hold any of your data.

Security

PineShot is designed with security in mind:

• Credential storage: S3 credentials are stored in the macOS Keychain, which is hardware-backed on Apple Silicon Macs
• Encrypted transfers: All communication with S3 uses HTTPS
• No remote servers: No data is transmitted to Pine IT servers, eliminating an entire class of data breach risk

Children’s Privacy

PineShot does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Since PineShot does not collect any data from any user, this requirement is inherently satisfied.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. When we make changes, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
