Use a hotkey or the menu bar. Select a region for one broken control, a window for context, or the full screen when the whole layout matters.
Repeat a previous area to document before and after.

Open the editor. Add an arrow, a box, or a text label. Keep automatic upload off when you want to review and annotate before sharing.
For example: point to the button and describe the expected result.

Upload to your destination
Connect Google Drive, OneDrive, or Amazon S3 first. Upload the reviewed image from the editor. Your storage account holds the file.

After a successful upload, PineShot copies the link. Paste it into your ticket, email, or chat, alongside the steps to reproduce or the change you need.

In Cloud Storage settings, sign in to Google Drive or OneDrive, or configure an S3 bucket and access. Select the active destination. Leave upload-after-capture off for a review-first workflow.
Your provider’s account, storage costs, and sharing policies still apply.
For sensitive material, keep the capture local until you have reviewed the image and confirmed that your sharing destination is appropriate. Read the PineShot privacy policy.

Before your first capture.
What does PineShot do?
PineShot is a screenshot-to-link app. Capture a region, window, or screen; add context in the annotation editor; upload to a connected storage destination; then paste the copied link into a ticket, email, or chat. You can also save and copy images locally without uploading.
Can I download it now?
Public Store links are not available on this page yet. macOS distribution is through the Mac App Store only. Windows public distribution is planned through the Microsoft Store, with Store enrollment still pending. Contact Pine IT about current access and release status. No release date or price is promised here.
Do I need a cloud account?
Only for cloud sharing. Connect your own Google Drive, OneDrive, or Amazon S3 destination. Local capture and annotation do not need a connected storage account. Your provider’s storage charges, quotas, and organization policies still apply.
Who can open a screenshot link?
Google Drive uploads use anyone-with-the-link read access. OneDrive requests an anonymous view link, subject to organization policy. S3 access depends on your bucket and URL settings; a pre-signed link can expire. A link is not restricted to the person you send it to. Check the uploaded file’s permissions before sharing sensitive content.
Does every capture upload automatically?
Automatic upload is configurable. For work you need to review, keep upload-after-capture off, annotate the screenshot, then upload from the editor. Connecting storage and enabling automatic upload are separate choices.
Can it copy text from a screenshot?
Yes. Capture Text extracts text into the clipboard. macOS uses Apple Vision on the device. Windows uses the Windows OCR engine and needs an installed OCR language pack. Check recognized text before using it, especially numbers and error codes.
Are macOS and Windows identical?
No. macOS runs in the menu bar and requires macOS 14 or later. Windows runs in the system tray and targets Windows 11 on x64 PCs. Both implement region, window, full-screen, previous-region, all-in-one and text capture. Scrolling capture is implemented on macOS; it is not listed as a Windows feature.
