PineSeed Meeting notes for Mac
Leave with notes you can use.
Keep the decisions, the context, and who does what next. PineSeed turns meeting audio and your own notes into a useful record of the conversation.
For client calls, team decisions, and your next one-to-one.

The meeting ends. The next steps stay clear.
Your notes are the starting point
Listen to the person.
Keep the useful parts.
A transcript holds the conversation. Your notes tell PineSeed what mattered. Bring them together, then review the result before sharing it.
-
Capture with consent
Start recording on your computer. PineSeed captures your microphone and system audio without sending a bot into the meeting. Tell participants before you record.
-
Write a few useful notes
Jot down a decision, a concern, or a question while local transcription runs in the background. You do not need to turn the conversation into a transcript yourself.
-
Make the result yours
Generate structured notes using your chosen AI model. Check the summary, correct names and dates, and review action items before you send a follow-up.
From conversation to follow-through
A note to act on.
Context to check.
Keep the readable note in front. Open the transcript when you need to check what was said. Action items keep the task and its owner together.
Decisions you can find. Keep the agreed approach separate from the discussion that led to it.
Tasks with an owner. Review action items, check assignments, and mark work done.
A source to return to. Open the transcript to check names, dates, and missing context.
Built around the work after the call
Different meetings.
The same need for clarity.
Consultants & client-facing teams
Write the follow-up with the decisions in front of you.
Keep the agreed scope, next steps, and unanswered questions together. Use client tags to find the previous conversation before the next call.
“What did we agree to deliver, and what still needs the client’s approval?”
Managers & team leads
Bring last week’s commitments into this week’s meeting.
Review owners and action items from a project review or one-to-one. Carry an unresolved question forward instead of starting from memory.
“Who is taking this forward, and what do they need from me?”
Individual contributors
Keep the context behind your next task.
Capture the requirements, trade-offs, and decisions that affect your work. Keep your own observations alongside the meeting record.
“Why did we choose this approach, and what should I do next?”
Illustrative use cases, not customer testimonials. Choose an approved setup for workplace and client information.
Local control, explained
Choose where the AI works.
Recording, transcription, and meeting storage run locally. For AI notes and other AI features, the provider you choose determines where processing happens.
Local storage does not make a managed computer private from its administrators. Check your device, backup, and workplace policies as well as your AI settings.
Before your first meeting
A little setup.
A useful first note.
Start with a short practice meeting. Make sure the audio and models work on your computer before you rely on them for a client call.
Release notes and checksums-
Install the Mac app
Download the DMG, open it, and move PineSeed to Applications. This release is for Apple Silicon Macs. System-audio capture needs macOS 14.4 or later.
-
Set up audio and models
Allow microphone and system-audio capture when prompted. In AI Settings, choose models that fit your hardware and download them while online. Model downloads are separate from the app.
-
Record, write, and review
Let participants know, start a recording, and add a few notes. Generate your summary, then check the transcript and action items. Connect a calendar later if it helps.
Before you download
Useful answers.
What it does, what it needs, and where your choices matter.
What does PineSeed do?
PineSeed is a desktop meeting notes app. It captures microphone and system audio, transcribes locally, and uses the transcript alongside your typed notes to generate structured notes. You can review the transcript, edit the result, and track action items with owners and due dates.
Does a bot join my meeting?
No meeting bot joins the call. PineSeed captures audio on your computer. Tell participants before recording and follow the recording rules that apply to your meeting. The app includes consent and disclosure tools; those tools do not establish that recording is permitted.
Can I use it without an internet connection?
Local recording, transcription and AI processing can work offline after the required models are installed. Choose built-in AI or Ollama running on the same computer for local summaries. Model downloads, cloud providers, connected calendars and update checks need a connection. Try your chosen setup before relying on it offline.
What leaves my computer if I choose cloud AI?
When you invoke an AI feature using an external provider, the meeting context and prompts needed for that feature go to that provider. Its account terms and charges apply. Local storage does not make every configuration local-only. Review the provider and model selected for each AI job.
Which computers can download PineSeed?
The linked release is for Apple Silicon Macs (M1 or newer). Use macOS 14.4 or later for system-audio capture. Windows is implemented in the product, but this public release does not include a Windows installer. An Intel Mac installer and mobile apps are not offered here.
How much memory and storage do local models need?
Requirements depend on your transcription and summary models. PineSeed shows model download sizes and hardware fit in AI Settings. Larger models need more memory and storage, and processing speed depends on your computer. The app download does not include all AI models. Start with a model that fits your hardware.
Can my workplace still access local notes?
Local storage is not a guarantee against access on a managed computer. Device administrators, backup software and shared folders may affect who can access your files. Use your organization’s approved device and AI configuration for work meetings.
Do I need a calendar connection or cloud AI?
Both are optional. You can start a recording manually. Google Calendar and Microsoft 365 connections can add meeting context. Local models avoid per-request cloud AI charges. If you connect a cloud provider, you need that provider’s credentials and its charges may apply.
