PineSeed — Terms of Service

Effective date: March 26, 2026

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the PineSeed desktop application (“the App”) provided by Autimo Systems Inc., operating as PineIT (“we”, “us”, “our”). By installing or using PineSeed, you agree to these Terms.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using PineSeed, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

2. Description of Service

PineSeed is a privacy-first desktop application for capturing, transcribing, and summarizing meetings. The App runs locally on your device and provides:

  • Audio recording of meetings
  • Local speech-to-text transcription
  • AI-powered meeting summarization
  • Meeting notes and organization
  • Optional calendar integration

3. License

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use PineSeed for personal or business purposes in accordance with these Terms.

You may not:

  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
  • Modify, adapt, or create derivative works based on the App
  • Distribute, sublicense, lease, or lend the App to third parties
  • Use the App for any unlawful purpose
  • Remove or alter any proprietary notices or labels

4. Your Responsibilities

You are solely responsible for complying with all applicable laws regarding the recording of conversations, including but not limited to:

  • Obtaining consent from all participants before recording meetings
  • Complying with local, state, and federal wiretapping and recording laws
  • Adhering to your organization’s policies regarding meeting recording

PineSeed provides a notification prompt reminding you to inform participants when a recording begins. We are not responsible for your compliance with recording laws.

4.2 Data Management

Since all data is stored locally on your device, you are responsible for:

  • Backing up your meeting data
  • Securing access to your device
  • Managing and deleting data as appropriate

4.3 Third-Party Services

If you connect external services (Google Calendar, Microsoft 365, external AI providers), you are responsible for:

  • Complying with those services’ terms of use
  • Managing your API keys and credentials
  • Understanding that data sent to external AI providers is subject to their terms

5. AI-Generated Content

Meeting summaries and other AI-generated content are provided for informational purposes only. AI output may contain inaccuracies, omissions, or misinterpretations. You should:

  • Review AI-generated content before relying on it
  • Not treat AI summaries as authoritative records
  • Verify important details against the original transcript or recording

We make no warranties regarding the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of AI-generated content.

6. Intellectual Property

PineSeed, including its code, design, and branding, is the intellectual property of PineIT. These Terms do not transfer any intellectual property rights to you.

Content you create using PineSeed (recordings, notes, summaries) remains yours.

7. AI Models

PineSeed downloads and uses AI models for transcription and summarization. These models:

  • Are provided under their respective open-source licenses
  • Are used locally on your device
  • May be updated from time to time to improve performance

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE APP IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

We do not warrant that:

  • The App will be uninterrupted or error-free
  • Transcriptions will be accurate
  • AI summaries will be complete or correct
  • The App will be compatible with all systems or configurations

9. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, PINEIT SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF DATA, LOSS OF PROFITS, OR BUSINESS INTERRUPTION, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF THE APP.

Our total liability for any claim arising from these Terms or your use of the App shall not exceed the amount you paid for the App in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.

10. Updates and Changes

We may update the App and these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. We will indicate changes by updating the “Last Updated” date.

11. Termination

You may stop using PineSeed at any time by uninstalling the App. We may terminate or suspend your license if you violate these Terms. Upon termination, your locally stored data remains on your device.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of British Columbia, Canada, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of British Columbia, Canada.

13. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.

14. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and PineIT regarding PineSeed.
